Obituary:
WOODBRIDGE - Peter Degn, 42 years of age, was this morning gored to death by a bull in a stable on his farm on upper Green Street. He had been dead for perhaps a half hour when his wife, going out to call him to breakfast, discovered the body wedged into a corner of the stable, the bull standing over him.

Mr. Degn, who for the past 10 years, has kept a dairy herd on what is called the old C. A. Campbell farm just accross the P. & R. tracks on upper Green Street, went to the harn this morning at 8:30 to feed the stock. When he had not appeared for breakfast by 9 o'clock Mrs. Degn went to the stable to call him. She found him dead.

The bull, of a vicious nature, had attacked his owner several times before, but had always been subdued. As a consequence he has been kept chained. This morning, however, he broke loose, as the broken chains show. It is thought that Mr. Degn tried to chain him up again when he was attacked.

William Price, brother-in-law of Degn, had to shoot the bull before he and Dr. Hoagland could go near the body. Coroner Hillpot was called and ordered the remains to remove to Hirner's morgue.

The deceased is survived by a widow, formerly Miss Ethel Shack and two children.

He lived in Woodbridge for the greater part of his life.
