Donald Britt Sigsbee McCumby is the father of Kristy McCumby-Hyland.

"My parents, Donald Britt Sigsbee McCumby and Carmen Delores Frazier were also married very young. They had known each other since they were 12 years old. They were seniors in high school when they eloped and were married in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho in December 1952. My dad was 17 and my mom had just turned 18. I was born in August 1953. Neither sets of my grandparents were very happy about the elopement, but when I came along, all was forgiven. My mom and dad were married for almost 60 years, before my father died in 2012. My mom is still living in the family home in Fairbanks, Alaska. My father was a manager of a drug/department store that was very profitable in the 1960's and 70's. That was the reason we moved from the Seattle area to Fairbanks in 1970, as my father was opening a new store for the company. Eventually, he was General Manager for the 12 stores the company opened in Alaska. My mom worked as a clerk in the local telephone company to help put my dad through the University. She stopped working when my dad graduated with his degree in Business Administration and became a "stay at home" mom when the next five children came along. She did not go back to work until my youngest brother was about 4 and she worked at the University of Alaska as a secretary and then for the State of Alaska, Department of Environmental Conservation as their records management clerk until she retired."
