Elisabeth Cathrine Straarup udvandrede 1894 sammen med Kristian Petersen Tingleff til Madison, Wisconsin i USA. De ankom den 8. juni 1894 til New York med SS Norge fra København.
Kristian Petersen Tingleff var uddannet som mejerist. Han fik 11. december 1900 amerikansk statsborgerskab ved Circuit Court, Lafayette Co. i Wisconsin.

Elizabeth Tingleff Succombs to Extended Illness
Elizabeth Tingleff, 80, native of Denmark and a resident of the Masonic Home, died late Thursday afternoon at the home after an illness of several months. Mrs. Tingleff was born March 10, 1869, in Denmark. She came to the United States in June, 1894 and settled in Belville, Wis. In 1895 she married Christian P. TIngleff in Belville. They moved to Powell, Wyo., in 1910 and resided there until 1919 when they came to the Helena Valley. Since that time, they have made their home in this area. Mrs. Tingleff was a member of the Josephine Hepner chapter No. 89, OES, of Helena and was active in affairs of the order. She was admitted to the Masonic home Aug. 15, 1947. She was also a member of the Episcopal church. Mrs. Tingleff is survived by her husband, Christian, of the Masonic home; three sons, Harry Tingleff, of Avoca, Iowa; Raymond Tingleff, of Oak Park, Ill., and Lester Tingleff, of Waukegan, Ill.; one daughter, Mrs. Marie Winey of Eugene, Oregon; a brother, Nis Straarup of Calgary, Alta, Canada; four grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and three brothers and a sister who live in Denmark. The body is at the Opp-Conrad-Retz funeral home. Funeral services will be held at the chapel at 2 o'clock Tuesday under the auspices of Josephine Hepner chapter, No. 89, OES. Burial will be in Forestvale Cemetery.
